Rachel Barry, MSW, LCSW

Hi, I’m Rachel and I’m a therapist (licensed clinical social worker) in Downtown Marietta, Georgia! I feel honored to get to work with individuals who aim to increase their sense of emotional well-being and inner peace. I believe that we - as human beings - all hold the answers we need within ourselves. Sometimes we just need a little help accessing our own truth and path through life - talk therapy with a trained clinician is an excellent tool for this! Talking helps us think and gain clarity into our own lives, so that we can heal from pain and begin to recover.

Emotion, which is suffering, ceases to be suffering, as soon as we can begin to form a clear and concise picture of it.
— Victor Frankl

I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and somatic interventions in my work with clients. I have a strong background in treating depression, anxiety, OCD, addictions, and other psychiatric illnesses. However, individuals are of course complex and diagnostic criteria is simply one piece of the puzzle. The whole person is so much more. I embrace a holistic, individualized approach in my work with clients.

I love helping people as they tackle issues with boundaries, communication, and relationships. It is an honor to bear witness to therapeutic progress. Whether emotional difficulties arise within the context of a job, an academic setting, a family system, or a toxic relationship, we can utilize the conflict at hand as a jumping off point for the deeper therapeutic work. I believe the unifying goal amongst my clients is a general desire to improve their own lives as well as the lives of others in some meaningful way. This is my goal as a therapist as well.

I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing.
